MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – Several roads in Berrien, Elkhart and Marshall Counties have been closed off due to flooding over the past weekend.
The roads you need to avoid include:
Marshall County
- 7th Road between Jarrah and King Roads
- Gumwood Road between 5B and 6th Road
- 5th Road between Gumwood and Hawthorn Roads
- 4th Road
- Grape Road
- Hawthorn Road between 8B and Iris Road
Berrien County
- Lubke Road between US 12 and Sand Road in New Buffalo, Michigan.
Officials in Berrien County say that the rain has made it difficult to stabilize the stream near the road and they are trying to solve the issue.
Officials are also saying that roads and pathways will re-open once the flooding subsides.
Several roads in Elkhart County are closed down as well.
Aside from all the flooding, motorists are also being advised to avoid a sink hole that formed on Sycamore Road between Riley and Rankert Roads near North Liberty.
A traffic cone was placed inside the hole to prevent motorists from driving into it.
Barricades have also been set up around the sinkhole.
Officials advise that you drive cautiously through the area.
