BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Three suspects were arrested on various felony drug charges following a traffic stop in Benton Harbor and two search warrants in Benton Township on Thursday, according to the Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET).

During the traffic stop, a 36-year-old Benton Township woman was arrested on four felony drug charges, which have yet to be released.

According to SWET, the first search warrant took place in the 300 block of Margarete Avenue in Benton Township, where detectives discovered evidence of drug trafficking, as well as unspecified amounts of marijuana, methamphetamine, crack-cocaine and suspected fentanyl.

A 36-year-old Benton Township resident was reportedly put under arrest for parole violation, and could face 13 additional felony drug-related charges from the prosecutor’s office.

During the second search warrant, which took place in the 300 block of Felton Street, a 57-year-old woman, also of Benton Township, was arrested after SWET detectives reportedly found methamphetamine packaged with an intent to deliver, suspected fentanyl, 114 Xanax pills and cocaine.

All three who were arrested are currently being held at the Berrien County Jail awaiting arraignment.

SWET reports that the arrests were a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation, which has not come to a close.
