NASCAR suspends Kurt Busch indefinitely

NASCAR has suspended driver Kurt Busch indefinitely ahead of Sunday's Daytona 500.

The decision comes after a family court found the driver committed an act of domestic violence.

Busch's ex-girlfriend, Patricia Driscoll, said Busch grabbed her throat and slammed her head against the wall last fall.

"We stated last year NASCAR fully recognized the serious nature of the specific situation involving Kurt Busch and really the broader issue of domestic violence," said NASCAR Executive VP Steve O'Donnell.

NASCAR says Busch can file an appeal. And Busch's lawyer says he plans to do so.

Busch doesn't face any criminal charges in the incident.
