National Night Out Against Crime events

Law enforcement departments all across the country will come together with the community for an annual Night Out Against Crime event on Tuesday. 

It is an annual event that is aimed at getting the community involved in various conversations with law enforcement officers. The goal is to foster relationships between police and community members and talk about how to make neighborhoods safer.

This is also a chance for residents to speak up about any concerns they may have.

The South Bend Police Department will hold an event at the department beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will be food, a police and fire display, as well as a med-flight helicopter. The event will go until 8 p.m.

St. Joseph County Police will also have a free event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. This will be held at Penn High School.

Mishawaka Neighborhood Watch Associations will host an event at multiple locations. They will have activities for the kids and refreshments. Mishawaka Police Department’s Public Relations Unit, Neighborhood Watch Coordinators, and Mishawaka City Officials will partner to answer any questions that residents may have. 
 
The locations for those events are below.

Hillis Hans Neighborhood Watch  Hillis will have their event at Hans Park from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Twin Branch Watch Association will host an event at Twin Branch Park from 5:45-8:00 p.m.

East 4th Street Neighborhood Watch will have an event at 803 East 4th Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m.

Elkhart Police will host a free event that will start at 5 p.m. on the Civic Plaza.
