ND athletes hold holiday party for young patients

SOUTH BEND, Ind. --Children at Memorial Hospital are headed to a holiday party they will never forget. Notre Dame student athletes will be making cookies and decorating them with the kids and their families.

The event is being held in Notre Dame’s Monogram Room.

At least one student athlete from each sports team will play Christmas bingo, putt putt golf and make crafts at each of the stations.

Associate Athletics Director Mike Harrity said the kids aren’t the only ones who look forward to the event.

"A lot of these stations came from student athletes ideas of what would be fun and it’s something our student athletes look forward to. To just have some time to relax and make a positive difference in a young person's life who has been dealing with various illnesses of all different levels,” said Harrity.
