ND athletic department making final preps for trip to Ireland
NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame has been planning for the big game in Ireland on Saturday for months and now it is showtime.
The athletic department has been busy the past few days making sure it gets all the necessary equipment to Ireland.
For the last week, they have been loading up the equipment truck.
"There is room for error. We have to make sure we have everything," Ryan Grooms, equipment manager, said. "We have a very short period of time to get things turned around when we get on the ground in Ireland and get over to Aviva to get things set up."
As for the for the flight, it is a 300 seat Delta Airbus that the university chartered. It leaves Wednesday night and will be hauling 17,000 pounds of cargo.
