Neglected teen in critical condition

The Indiana teen found locked in her room weighing 40 pounds remains in critical condition at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.

Indiana police say a 15-year-old mentally disabled girl was found locked in her room and has not been to a doctor or school in two years.

In 2011, Children's Services went to court in an unsuccessful attempt to remove the child from her home.

“I would expect that the action would have been taken by the judge and it wasn't, they should have continued to maintain the status,” Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings.

Anderson police took 58-year-old Steve Sells into custody after admitting he kept the teen locked up.

The Madison County Prosecutor has asked for a 72-hour continuance before filing formal charges.

The other child that was living in the home has been placed in state custody.
