BENTON HARBOR, Mich.--- Neighbors are calling the home in Benton Harbor where a man was shot on Tuesday a “nuisance”. Officials say the home at 161 Apple Avenue was cited for a loud music complaint just days before the shooting took place.
Neighbors say that the area stays pretty quiet during the week, but on weekends the street is filled with people, loud music, and garbage all coming from the house.
“There are a whole lot of people and crowds, cars driving over people’s lawns,” said one neighbor who chose to remain anonymous. “Paper and stuff is everywhere, there’s no respect.”
Neighbors also say that although most of the street stays quiet, they were expecting something bad would eventually happen because of the volume of people who come to the house.
People living on Apple Avenue are hoping that authorities intervene before more crime is brought to the street. “It’s been horrible,” said the neighbor. “They need to shut it down.”
