Neighbors help after man crashes truck into garage

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A man is recovering from minor injuries after he crashed his truck into his garage.

It happened on South Brookfield Street in South Bend Monday afternoon.

Around 3:00 p.m., police and fire crews responded to a call of a truck that crashed into a garage.

"He just jumped out of the truck and forgot to put it into gear," said neighbor Ann Hill.

Fire crews pulled the victim out of the truck.

Neighbors dropped their Labor Day celebrations to help.

"We all help each other, isn't that what neighborhoods do, they help each other?" said Hill.
