New bar set to open in downtown South Bend this spring

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The owners of Blackthorn Golf Club and The Blarney Hole have partnered with Brooke Donegan to open Spirited, a new bar in downtown South Bend.

“We believe that Spirited will fill a void in downtown South Bend for a late-night cocktail bar. It will offer fun and innovative cocktails, as well as fresh late-night food options.” Tim Firestone, one of the owners of Blackthorn, said in a press release. “Partnering with Brooke was an essential part of us moving forward with this opportunity. She is a Certified Specialist of Spirits and has been involved with the opening of several bar programs during her career in the industry.”

“The bar will have a cozy comfortable atmosphere. We want people to feel at home drinking an old favorite or trying something new. A place you can bring clients, a group of friends or others in the service industry can enjoy a drink after work. We want the space and experience to make people happy.” Donegan said in a press release. “We look forward to developing partnerships and collaborating with other local establishments as a way to further the sense of community and momentum of downtown South Bend.”

Construction has already started. The bar is scheduled to open in late spring.
