NEW BUFFALO, Mich. -- New Buffalo may soon become the next big train depot!
The city, along with Amtrak and the Michigan Department of Transportation, plans to file for a grant next week that would make New Buffalo an intersection for two high speed trains!
The depot would connect a line that travels from Detroit to Chicago and one from Chicago to Grand Rapids.
The grant is worth more than $50 million from the Federal Government and MDOT would then give another $20 million.
The city said it will file paperwork by Monday.
