New details in theft of WWI monument in South Milford

The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department has released a description of a vehicle that could have been involved in the theft of a machine gun from a monument on SR3 in South Milford.

The sheriff's department says they are looking for a black pickup truck with a silver toolbox. Witnesses reported seeing it parked near the monument before the theft.

The 1895 Colt machine gun was stolen from its display case during the overnight hours of October 28 through October 29.

It was part of a monument honoring local residents who served in WWI.
