New exhibit coming to The History Museum of South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The History Museum of South Bend announced a new exhibit called “Power, Production, and Pioneers: The St. Joseph River” that will make a debut on August 28.

This new exhibit will share the stories and history behind the St. Joe River’s impact on the development of South Bend and Mishawaka.

Before the invention of electricity, the river was essential for manufacturing, commerce, transportation and more in the area.

The exhibit will also showcase how the river has aided lifestyles in the area over numerous generations.
