New hospice under construction

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Riverwalk is about to be home to the new Hospice Foundation.

Construction on phase one of the building is already underway.

The new building will allow the Hospice Foundation to consolidate three buildings around St. Joseph County into one location making it easier for staff, patients and family members.

It will also have a special place to help grieving families.

"Through that facility we will be able to do one on one counseling, group counseling activities and we have an art counseling studio so we will be able to do that in that facility as well," said Mike Wargo, Hospice Foundation CEO.

They hope to open the new facility by July and are already fundraising for phase-two of the project.
