New Jersey bans baggy pants

WILDWOOD, N.J. -- Some New Jersey neighbors who are fed up with a trend involving baggy pants are finally getting their way.

Starting Wednesday, sagging pants are banned on the boardwalk in Wildwood, in Southern New Jersey.

The city decided to step in after getting a lot of complaints.

For now offenders will get a verbal warning but ignoring it could cost them.

"They'll be asked to pull em up. and if they take it to a level that the police feel is unreasonable they will ask them to leave the boardwalk. If they continue to raise a fuss about it they could be ticketed," said Mayor Ernie Troiana Junior.

Tickets could cost up to $200.

Businesses along the boardwalk think the change is good for their image.
