New life rings put to the test in St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. --- The newly installed life rings on the south pier in St. Joseph were put to the test this week.
On Monday evening, a 19-year-old Illinois man was struggling in the water.
The man's father threw him two of the life rings from the pier and he was eventually pulled to safety.
The life rings were installed in June.
