New nuclear imaging camera to assist Michiana cardiologists

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- When it concerns your heart, every minute matters.

New, state-of-the-art technology can help Michiana cardiologists treat and diagnose heart disease faster and with more accuracy.

Memorial Advanced Cardiovascular Institute showed off its new nuclear imaging system.It can show detailed pictures of the heart.

Patients used to have to stand with their arms in the air for up to 20 minutes, now it takes less than 5 minutes to get the images.

In addition to unveiling the technology, the institute also offered free heart screenings today.
