NEW PARIS, Ind. -- The New Paris Fire Department battled a house fire at a home in the 71000 block of CR 19 late Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called to 71014 CR 19 just before 10 a.m.
Firefighters had difficulty battling the fire because of the extreme cold, but it was quickly brought under control.
"We got here and there was fire in the wall. We've got it contained. Right now there's several layers of roofing on the house. It's contained right now in the roof. As you can hear, we have chainsaws running we're working our way in to get to the fire and get it out but we do have it under control," said John Manges, Safety Office for the New Paris Fire Department.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
