New smoking ban in the works for Indiana

Will it be butts out in Indiana?

Governor Mitch Daniels says that support is growing for a statewide smoking ban, and he thinks that a bill could pass as soon as next year.

A smoking ban failed to pass last session, after it was loaded up with exemptions.

Daniels wants to see the percentage of Hoosiers who smoke drop to 20 percent by the end of his term.

Right now, Indiana’s smoking rate is at about 21 percent, a historic low for Indiana.
