New study: Possible brain damage in NFL players

NFL players who suffer concussions in their prime, could face cognitive brain damage later in life.

The study by JAMA Neurology shows that cognitive problems and depression are more common in NFL players who have a history of a concussion. For the first time scientists have been able to prove this through a sophisticated brain scan.

The hope is that post concussion damage could some day be detected by scanning the brain.
