MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The newly remodeled Crawford Park officially opened early Thursday before noon.

Sixth graders from Beiger Elementary and other community members were in attendance to participate in ribbon cutting.

Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood was also at the ceremony to help the community celebrate.

The park has been thematically remodeled to a “Nature Park”, including man-made wetlands.

It now features an active play area for children and a neighborhood lawn area for open play and special events.

It also has a new restroom building and three new picnic shelters/pavilions along with a new small off-street parking lot.

The wetlands separate the walkway from the play area and children's splash pad.

The play area features inclusive components for children of all abilities.
