Woman sustains lip laceration, missing teeth following battery incident

GOSHEN, Ind. -- A 55-year-old Goshen resident was arrested on charges of battery and possession of methamphetamine early Sunday morning.

Officers of the Goshen Police Department responded to a battery report at the 1100 block of south 9th Street around 12:49 a.m.

The victim, a 44-year-old woman, was located with an upper lip laceration and missing several teeth. She turned down medical attention.

The accused suspect, Chris Geist, was arrested and taken to the Elkhart County Jail.

Geist was also found to have had an outstanding warrant through the Goshen City Court.
