Newtown pays tribute to victims of Sandy Hook Elementary
NEWTOWN, Ct. — Bells tolled in Newtown, Ct., one for each life lost at Sandy Hook Elementary in the Dec. 14 shooting. And families of the victims were not alone in their moment of silence.
Bells also rang nationwide and moments of silence were observed at 9:30 a.m., the moment that Adam Lanza stormed into the school armed with a semi-automatic rifle.
The president, stock traders in New York, students in Florida and around the country and world took time to reflect.
Funeral services were held for more victims on Friday.
And threats of gun violence forced several schools around the country to cancel classes.
