Niles firehouse giving away Christmas trees

NILES, Mich. -- For the past six years, a Michiana firehouse had been selling Christmas trees, then giving the rest away for free, and there are still a few dozen left.

Friday fire fighters were out making sure folks who needed trees got them before Sunday.

“Spread the cheer and help people out who are in need,” said Gary Zavoral. “It’s been a rough year, that's why I think we have so many left over this year.”

The trees are lined up along the fence there at the firehouse. They are still free for those who want to stop by and grab one.
