NILES, Mich. -- Poetry music and more, Juneteenth celebrations were underway across Michiana Thursday including in the city of Niles. They hosted the 5th annual Juneteenth Festival.
Honoring the nations newest national holiday as known as Freedom Day for slaves in Texas two and half years after the Emancipation proclamation was signed by president Abraham Lincoln.
