Niles kicks off two days of heavy (metal) fundraising

NILES, Mich. -- Two days of hardcore fundraising kicked off on Thursday in Niles.

It's called Operation Payback and it's being held at the Howard Twp. Conservation Club off Terminal Road.

The events feature performances by six heavy metal bands.

It was supposed to start with some professional wrestling, but that was canceled.

All the excitement should benefit wounded soldiers.

"The soldiers that are overseas the wounded soldiers they don't have a voice and that's what I'm for to give soldiers a voice," said John Crull of Operation Payback.

Besides the Rock n' Roll and the wrestling there is also an airsoft gun tournament set for Friday.
