Niles Police arrest bank robbery suspect near bank

NILES, Mich. -- A 52-year-old Niles man has been arrested for allegedly robbing the TCF Bank on E. Main Street, according to Niles Police.

Police received a call about the robbery around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Citizens at the scene helped Niles Police and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office locate the suspect a short distance away.

Police said evidence of the robbery was collected during his arrest.

The suspect is facing one count of armed robbery.

His name will be released following his arraignment.
