Niles Police investigating shooting involving 15-year-old victim

NILES, Mich. -- Niles Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 700 block of Poplar Monday afternoon.

Police received a 9-1-1 call about a shooting just before 6 p.m.

When police arrived, they found a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound that caused injuries to their upper torso and arm.

The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury.

Police said the shooting may be the result of a dispute between two groups of people.
