Niles student one of five in US to receive Sparkling Ice scholarship

NILES, Mich.—A Niles High School student is one of five students in the United States to receive a Sparkling Ice scholarship.

Colette Maples received the surprise $5,000 scholarship award on Wednesday during a ceremony at Niles High School.

The Sparkling Ice Flavorful Futures Scholarship is awarded to five students selected from over 20,000 applicants in the United States who demonstrate how they are authentic, unique and how they see their future.

The scholarship money can be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies at an accredited United States institution.
