NIPSCO releases estimated power restoration times for surrounding areas

NIPSCO announced estimated restoration times for surrounding areas without power.

After Monday’s intense winter storm, many were without power.

Due to the excessive heavy snow and gusty winds, NIPSCO customers dealt with difficulties such as downed power lines and broken poles.

More than 40,000 customers were affected by the storm.

NIPSCO announced that around 5 p.m. central time, about 6,800 people remained without power mostly in the Lake, Porter, and La Porte counties.

Crews are continuing to work around the clock to repair the damage from the snow and winds.

NIPSCO provided the following information about the estimated times of restoration for customers:

Monday, Nov. 26 by Midnight

Leroy

Tuesday, Nov. 27 between 5-7 p.m.

Westville

Tuesday, Nov. 27 by Midnight

Cedar Lake ,Chesterton, Crown Point, Dyer, Gary, Griffith, Hammond, Hebron, Highland, Hobart, Lake Station, La Porte, Lowell, Merrillville, Michigan City, Munster, Pleasant Lake, St. John, Schererville, Valparaiso, Wheeler
