NIPSCO warns public against scams

NIPSCO warns the public against scams and says they will never demand immediate payment via a prepaid card, credit card, or cash at a person’s residence or place of business.

If someone visits your home or business claiming to be NIPSCO, ask to see ID since NIPSCO employees and contractors carry photo ID badges and will gladly show you upon request. 

You should call NIPSCO If you are unsure about a person claiming to be affiliated with them.

You are asked to please call their customer care center at 1-800-4-NIPSCO.

Use caution with cash, credit card information, and personal information.

NIPSCO employees do not collect cash payments nor deliver cash refunds or rebates to customers.

They do not go door to door in an attempt to collect customer payments or ask for social security numbers at your door.
