NJ mayor survives week on food stamps

He survived a week of living on food stamps and now Newark New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker is trying to protect people who rely on the assistance.

It's a program facing potential cuts as lawmakers try to avoid the fiscal cliff.

"Our veterans are on the snap program, children on snap program, disabled, families with disabled folks on snap program, even some, a small amount of military families are on the snap program. So, many people, you say it's a supplement, but it's something they rely heavily on,” said Booker.

Booker wants Congress to look at this as a long term investment with an economic return.
