No charges filed in LaPorte County jail fire

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. — Charges have not been filed in connection with a fire at the LaPorte County Jail.
Police say the fire started inside a cell on the jail's south side around 1 p.m.
An inmate inside, 35-year-old Marzano Shelly, was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. No one else was hurt.
Police say they are still investigating how the fire started.
