Noble County man wins lottery jackpot using late dog's name

INDIANAPOLIS - A Noble County man had some help from a beloved pet to win a lottery jackpot.

Michael Young of Kendallville won $90,000 with a Ruby Mine 9X scratch-off ticket.

He says he bought the ticket because his dog’s name was Ruby. She was a 14-year-old Labrador retriever that recently died.

Young says he scratched the ticket before arriving home, revealing a $90,000 win.

"I just couldn't believe it," he told the Hoosier Lottery. "I definitely looked at it more than once."

Young says he and his wife plan to pay off their mortgage and use the rest of their prize money for their retirement.
