INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – NorthWood High School girls’ basketball team played in the state championship game on February 29 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The team was ranked 7th and took on number one ranked Salem in the 3-1 state title game.
This was the Panthers’ third title game appearance. Not only was this the first time they made it to state in 21 years, but the Panthers also pulled off a winning game.
It was a hard-fought battle going back and forth all night.
Senior Maddy Payne was given the mental attitude award.
The Panthers are holding a community pep rally at the school on March 1 at 2:15 p.m. to celebrate their victory.
