NOTRE DAME, Ind. -
Devin Butler is headed east.
The senior defensive back announced on Twitter today he is transferring to Syracuse University to close out his collegiate career.
The transfer does not come as a surprise to the Notre Dame coaching staff who has been expecting the announcement for weeks. Butler leaves Notre Dame with a degree and will enroll in graduate classes at Syracuse next month.
He has one year of eligibility left because of a medical redshirt he used this year while rehabbing a foot injury.
Butler still managed to take over headlines for an incident in August, where he was arrested outside of the Linebacker Lounge in South Bend.
