Notre Dame looks to revenge 2022 loss at home vs Stanford
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Notre Dame football fans are looking forward to seeing Marcus Freeman lead the Fighting Irish to a victory in his first game as the team's head coach when they play Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl on January 1.
The Irish finished the season with the number five spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, narrowly missing an opportunity to compete for a national championship this year.
One Notre Dame student is excited to see how newly named head coach Marcus Freeman does in the Fiesta bowl and in next year’s season.
“A little disappointed that Alabama or Michigan couldn’t lose. So, we couldn’t go to the playoff, but still very excited. They worked very hard this year, so I’m glad they got that five spot. I’m still kind of excited to see what Marcus Freeman can do,” said Grace Quinn, a senior student at Notre Dame.
The Irish opened as a two-and-a-half-point favorite for the Fiesta Bowl matchup against the Cowboys in Glendale, Arizona.
