SOUTH BEND, Ind -- Notre Dame played in their sixth Fiesta Bowl and had their support system in their corner despite giving up a large lead in the second half.
The Marcus Freeman era is what many Irish fans were excited about today.
Being able to see him take run out with his team as the head coach today – brought the December third of 2021 announcement into reality.
The game kept fans on the edge of their seats as they intensely watched the four hour long matchup in Arizona but unfortunately the Irish lost in a nail bitter today as it came down to the final minutes and far as the fans well they’re not complaining.
"I was sad about the outcome but I’m really happy about Marcus freeman being the new coach. I’ve really been glad that he’s come on board so I was hoping they’d win for him especially. For the players and everybody but especially for Marcus. So, I was sad about that. But it was a fun game. We kind of fell apart at times," said local fan Ruth Banner.
