Notre Dame Football running backs on day three of fall training camp
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- As the first week of fall training camp comes to an end, the running backs still have a lot to prove.
The Irish are replacing fifth round draft pick, Audric Estime, and his more than 1300 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns from last season. But running backs Coach Deland McCullough tells us, his room is loaded, and they are up for the challenge.
"I'm just excited about all of it. I mean, Jeremiyah, you know, his physical growth, his explosiveness, his athleticism. JD continued his physical growth, his ability to change direction and slash. Devyn Ford coming back, giving us some veteran leadership there a guy who's of like a coach on the field, really involved in what's going on. Just explosiveness you know, across the board. The other thing is just these guys, like one of our main tenants is being unselfish," stated McCullough.
ABC57's Allison Hayes got a chance to ask Notre Dame Running Back Jadarian Price, " You and Jeremiyah have a lot of experience from last year that you bring now into this season, how do your styles complement each other?"
"I think we both know we're both fast and you know, as we speak, you know, Coach Freeman has this this competition where each position group, you know, he rallies up points to see who had the fastest miles per hour for each day of practice and me and him are competing in that throughout camp so you know, we're just competing with each other making each other better and we're gonna continue to do that for the whole season," stated Price.
Love and Price combined for 657 yards rushing and four touchdowns last season.
