Notre Dame moving on up in rankings

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Sunday night the first BCS standings were released and the Irish come in at number five.
This is the highest BCS ranking for the team since they were fifth in November 2006.
Fifth is also where they sit in today's AP and USA Today polls.
Alabama, Oregon, Florida, and Kansas State file in front of the Irish in the top four of those polls.
In the Irish's six games so far this season the team has beaten three top 25 teams.
