Notre Dame player named "Player of the Week"

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame place kicker and punter Kyle Brindza has been named FSB Independent Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the game against Rice Saturday.


The senior from Canton, Michigan put his legs to work in the 48-to-17 blow-out.

 

He went 2-for-3 on his field goal attempts.

 

Brindza made all six of his extra kicks, and he punted three times.

 

He recorded a stellar 7 touch-backs on nine kick-offs.

 

This is his 6th time winning the award.
