Notre Dame secures first home game win of the season against Miami (Ohio)
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Fighting Irish won their first home game of the season against Miami (Ohio) with a final score of 28-3.
Riley Leonard found the endzone on an 8-yard run with 3:33 left in the second quarter, putting Notre Dame in the lead at 7-3.
Finishing the second quarter at 14-3, Leonard completed a 38-yard touchdown pass to Beaux Collins. This marked Leonard’s first passing touchdown after 14 quarters as the starting quarterback.
Jeremiyah Love rushed for 15-yards into the endzone, finishing the third quarter 21-3.
Notre Dame’s kicker, Mitch Jeter, completed every extra point field goal following every touchdown scored in the game.
In the fourth quarter, Leonard rushed for 50-yards and scored a touchdown, setting Notre Dame up with a final score of 28-3 against Miami (Ohio).
