Notre Dame Security Police monitoring threatening social media posts

Notre Dame Security Police are monitoring posts made on Facebook by a recent Notre Dame graduate that were concerning.

An email was sent out to students at 3:02 a.m. alerting them of the situation.

NDSP initiated an investigation of a complaint about Facebook posts by a recent graduate that raised concerns by a number of people.  This is an ongoing investigation. NDSP has identified and has been in contact with the individual and his family.  As always, if you are aware of any criminal or suspicious behavior on campus, please immediately report to NDSP by calling 9-1-1 from a campus phone or 574-631-5555 from a mobile phone.

University spokesperson Dennis Brown said NDSP had spoken to the individual in question in the early morning hours of September 2, 2015.

NDSP said the investigation was ongoing.
