Notre Dame student Olympian meets President Obama, First Lady

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A Notre Dame student got to meet President Obama and Michelle Obama as they hosted the U.S. Olympic Team and Paralympic Athletes at the White House.

Mariel Zagunis, a Notre Dame fencer, was also the Olympic flag bearer.

"This one is most special - not only being able to have the honor of carrying the flag in the opening ceremonies, but to be here today on behalf of Team USA to present that flag to the President and the First Lady and the Vice President was a huge, huge honor for me and you know, it was great to meet them all in person and it really means a lot for the athletes to be here," Zagunis said.

The president also said when it came to watching the Olympics, he was the fan and the chief.
