Notre Dame teaching kids meaning of "Play Like a Champion"

NOTRE DAME, Ind.-- The Play Like a Champion Program at Notre Dame is trying to spell out exactly what the phrase means for coaches and parents everywhere.

The program's goal is to encourage people to participate in youth sports in a healthy way.

One way they hope to do accomplish their goal is to have sports help kids deal with bullying.

Organizers said it can be done by just letting kids know they are part of a team.

Clark Power, the Director of Play Like a Champion Today Program said, "So no kid on our team if it's a play like a champion team is going to feel left out is going to be teased or whatever because the kids on the team everyone is going to be devoted to helping each other."

The Play like a Champion Today program is holding it's seventh annual National Sports Leadership Conference June 22 through June 24.
