Notre Dame vs. Georgia Tech: October 31, 2020

ATLANTA – The sixth game of the 2020 season for Notre Dame’s football team will be against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The Irish are ranked 4th in the Atlantic Conference with a 5-0 winning streak so far.

The Yellow Jackets are unranked with an overall 2-4 record.

Scoring Updates:

The Irish start off strong in the first quarter, fighting against Georgia Tech to take the ball home.

Ian Book throws an 8-yard pass to Joe Wilkins Jr. for a touchdown with a follow-up PAT from Jonathan Doerer. Irish take the lead 7-0.

Just as the second quarter opens up, Irish Kyree Williams attempts a rush but Juanyeh Thomas forces a fumble that is picked up by Zamari Walton who takes it 93 yards and scores for the Yellow Jackets. Jude Kelley makes good on the PAT to tie the game at 7-7.

Five minutes into the second quarter would see Williams with another 2-yard rush to bring the rock home. Doerer does his thing like always and makes good on the kick. Irish lead 14-7.

With two minutes left before halftime Notre Dame attempts a field goal and Doerer shows what he can do. Irish increase their lead to 17-7.

As the third quarter starts, Georgia Tech pushes into Irish territory but the ball quickly gets turned over. Williams adds to his rushing game, taking it 4-yards for a touchdown. Doerer follows with a good kick and pushes Notre Dame's lead to 24-7.

The rest of the third would be a hard-fought back-and-forth for each team, seeing no other points scored.

Early in the fourth quarter, Notre Dame pushes hard and sees C'Bo Flemister rushing over and over until finally landing a 3-yard rush into the endzone. Doerer makes good on the PAT. Irish up 31-7.

Half of the last quarter to go, Georgia Tech's Jordan Mason rushes several times with a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Adonicas Sanders attempts a rushing PAT but it fails. Irish still lead 31-13.

As the game comes to a close, Notre Dame secures their victory over Georgia Tech at 31-13. The Irish have a winning streak of 6-0 this season and move on to play the Clemson Tigers on November 7th.
