Notre Dame vs Navy: November 16, 2019

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Notre Dame game against the Navy Midshipmen is underway with one of the longest lasting rivalries continuing between the teams who are both ranked this season.

Navy is ranked 23rd going into the game against the 16th ranked Irish, with both teams being ranked during their matchup for the first time since 1978.

Notre Dame is faced with a tough opponent as Navy is 7-1 and is on a five-win streak.

The Irish are also left with quite a few injuries to key players from last week despite their victory over Duke.

Regardless, Notre Dame is putting it all on the table as they go up against the Midshipmen.

Notre Dame starts the game off strong with a 7-yard pass from Ian Book to Chase Claypool early in the First Quarter. Irish are up 7-0.

The Irish quickly score again with the same duo making an impressive 47-yard pass. Irish still lead 14-0.

Notre Dame scores at the very top of the Second Quarter with a 3-yard pass to Chase Claypool from Ian Book. Irish are ahead 21-0. 

Ian Book throws an astounding 70-yard pass to Braden Lenzy for the touchdown. Irish still lead 28-0. 

The Irish continue to dominate with a 32-yard field goal from Jonathon Doerer. Notre Dame is up 31-0. 

Tony Jones Jr. makes a 2-yard run right before the end of the Second Quarter. Irish still lead 38-0. 

Navy finally gets on the scoreboard with a 27-yard field goal from Bijan Nichols just as the game goes into halftime. Irish still lead 38-3. 

Notre Dame scores in the Third Quarter with a 20-yard pass from Ian Book to Chase Claypool. Irish are up 45-3. 

The Midshipmen make their first touchdown with a 43-yard pass from Perry Olsen to Mychal Cooper. Irish still lead 45-10. 

Notre Dame scores in the Fourth Quarter 27-yard fumble return from Paul Moala. Irish are up 52-10. 

Perry Olsen scores a 2-yard run for Navy. Notre Dame still leads 52-17. 

Navy follows with a 36-yard field goal from Bijan Nichols. Irish still lead 52-20. 

Notre Dame wins the game against Navy 52-20. The Irish are now 8-2.
