Notre Dame vs Pittsburgh: October 24, 2020

NOTRE DAME - The fifth game of the 2020 season for Notre Dame's football team will be against the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The Irish are ranked 2nd in the Atlantic Conference with a 4-0 winning streak this year. The Panthers are currently ranked 9th.

Scoring Updates:

Notre Dame opens up the first quarter looking to start their lead with a 34-yard pass from Ian Book to Ben Skowronek. The rock comes home and Jonathan Doerer follows up with a PAT, pushing the Irish into a 7-0 lead.

Halfway through the first quarter, Pittsburgh tries to tie things up and Alex Kessman scores a 45-yard field goal. Irish lead 7-3.

The Irish are not content as the 2nd quarter opens up and Book launches another long 73-yard pass to Skowronek in the endzone. Doerer makes good on another PAT. Irish still up 14-3.

The Panthers put up a good fight, but the Irish make good on another play with only a minute and a half left in the quarter. Kyren Williams rushes for 2 yards and Doerer follows up with the PAT. The Irish widen their lead 21-3.

With only 11 seconds left before the half, Notre Dame's Isaiah Foskey blocks a punt attempt by Pitt, recovers the ball, and brings it home. Doerer again gets a good kick for the PAT. Notre Dame leads 28-3.

Halfway into the third quarter, Doerer kicks a 21-yard field goal for another leg up for the Irish. Notre Dame leads 31-3.

The Irish continue to dominate the game against the Panthers with less than five minutes left in the third quarter. Book passes to Michael Mayer for a 14 yard touchdown. Doerer bringing that PAT as well, pushing the Irish's lead to 38-3.

Just a couple of minutes later, Notre Dame's C'Bo Flemister rushes for 2 yards and Doerer makes good on the PAT. Irish lead 45-3.

As the game closes out, the Irish finish their 5th match undefeated 5-0, dominating Pittsburgh with a final score of 45-3.
