SOUTH BEND, Ind – New additions to the roster hopes to boost an already talented roster for game one in Paris against South Carolina.
Notre Dame women’s basketball is preparing to start their 2023 season under third year coach Niele Ivey.
After falling to Maryland in the sweet 16 – the Irish added some new pieces to the roster such as point guard Hannah Hidalgo.
The ladies will showcase their new roster in their exhibition game against Purdue Northwest on October 30th at Purcell Pavillion and again on November 6th in Paris, France.
“I'm fortunate to have to be behind a brand that's national international like Notre Dame we get. We were afforded many incredible opportunities to play in to be a part of a lot of historical matchups and moments. I was fortunate to have that as an assistant coach and you know, as head coach, I always want to give my players that experience in understanding is bigger than basketball,” Ivey said.
Ivey and the Irish will play the first ever NCAA regular season basketball game in Paris, France against South Carolina.
“We get a chance to go across the pond we get a chance to play in a historical first NCAA Women's Basketball matchup. My son just played last year in Paris we get a chance to play this year, playing Dawn Staley, but we also get a chance to impact the community there,” Ivey added.
