Notre Dame's "The Shirt 2014" to be unveiled today

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame fans will gather Friday afternoon at Hammes Bookstore for the unveiling of this year's shirt.

The unveiling of "the Shirt" will happen at 4:30 p.m.

Fifty percent of the proceeds from the shirt's sales go to student organizations, extracurricular activities and students suffering for medical conditions.

The event is open to everyone and will feature food, activities and performances from student groups benefiting from the shirt's sale.

This year's shirt was designed by the Project Shirt Executive Committee made up of ten Notre Dame students.

They've been working since November on the color, theme and additional features of "The Shirt 2014."

The committee is collaborating with Alta Garcia Apparel for the third consecutive year to create and manufacture "The Shirt."

The release of "The Shirt 2014" comes just in time for fans to wear it to the Blue-Gold Game.

Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium.
